Steven Gerrard Decided to Move to the Premier League

Steven Gerrard seems to have finally decided to step up to lead a Premier League club.

Gerrard has been managing Rangers since 2018, where he has achieved good results and earned recognition as a good coach.

Due to the excellent management of Gerrard for a couple of years, there was speculation when he would make the jump to a bigger club. And it seems that finally, Mr. Liverpool has decided to accept a more significant challenge and return to the Premier League.

According to Football Insider, Aston Villa would have contacted Gerrard to assume the club’s reins after the departure of Dean Smith. The media also indicates that the 41-year-old coach has already submitted his resignation to the Rangers board.

But the Rangers don’t want to lose Gerrard so easily. During his tenure at the Scottish club, Steven achieved two runners-up and a league championship that broke the hegemony of rival Celtic.

In order to convince the Rangers board of directors to let Gerrard go, Aston Villa would be willing to give a juicy compensation to the club.

Aston Villa is trying to become a serious contender for the high places of the table and achieve a qualification to the European competitions.

Thanks to the sale of Jack Grealish to Manchester City, the club managed to add more than 100 million euros to its accounts. This money allowed them to invest in players like Emi Buendía, Leon Bailey, and Danny Ings.

However, the club has not achieved the expected results and recorded five consecutive defeats, which were the cause for the dismissal of Dean Smith.

It seems that Gerrard can no longer wait to return to the Premier League since he told in the past that he would wait until 2024 to receive the call from Liverpool and replace Klopp.
