Barcelona strengthened their La Liga campaign with a convincing 3-0 victory over Getafe at the Estadi Johan Cruyff on Sunday night.
Ferran Torres was the standout performer, scoring twice in the first half before Dani Olmo added a third after the break to secure all three points for Hansi Flick’s side.
Torres opened the scoring in the 15th minute, finishing off Dani Olmo’s assist with precision.
The Spanish forward doubled his tally just under 20 minutes later, this time latching onto a pass from Raphinha to give Barcelona a commanding 2-0 lead before half-time.
The brace took Torres’ total to four goals this season, making him Barça’s top scorer in the early stages of the campaign.
In the second half, Barcelona continued to control proceedings. Olmo, who had already set up Torres’ opener, got on the scoresheet himself in the 62nd minute, capping off a dominant display with a neat finish.
Despite Getafe’s attempts to rally, their attack struggled to break through Barcelona’s disciplined defence, which has now registered three clean sheets in five league matches.
The match was not without intensity, with seven yellow cards shown throughout the game, reflecting a physical and occasionally heated encounter.
Getafe created a handful of chances, including efforts from Davinchi and Marcus Rashford, but were consistently denied by goalkeeper Joan Garcia and a well-organised backline.
Barcelona’s depth was once again on display as Flick rotated his squad in the second half, introducing Ronald Araujo and Roony Bardghji while resting key players like Pedri.
Robert Lewandowski, though eager for a goal, could not find the target but continued to show sharp movement in the final third.
The victory keeps Barcelona firmly in the chase behind leaders Real Madrid, trimming the gap at the top to five points.
With their third clean sheet of the season and growing attacking confidence, Flick’s team will now prepare for their next league test against Real Oviedo, aiming to build further momentum in the title race.
