Tuchel says he is unworried ahead of Dortmund clash

Paris Saint Germain manager, Thomas Tuchel, has said he is unworried about his team’s performance ahead of the Champions League knockout game against Borussia Dortmund.

The Ligue 1 leaders had played a dramatic 4-4 against relegation-threatened Amiens.

PSG started the game with a much-changed line-up that had Neymar and Kylian Mbappé out of action. They ought to have gone up three goals ahead, breaking the makeshift defense that had fit-again captain and stopper Thiago Silva returning to action alongside 17-year-old Tanguy Kouassi, who didn’t live up to expectation.

Amiens went ahead with efforts from Serhou Guirassy, Gaël Kakuta, and Fousseni Diabaté in the first half, giving them a tough hurdle to overcome.

The starting line up is an indication of the major aim of Paris Saint-Germain’s Qatari owners whose sights are on the UEFA Champions League title since they took over in 2011.

PSG restored parity with the half-time substitutions of Marquinhos for Silva and Marco Verratti for Leandro Paredes doing the magic. A stand out performer in the game is Kouassi, who scored two headed goals restoring his side’s lead with just a minute to play.

Guirassy’s second of the game forced the game into a draw that brings to an end an exciting encounter.

Speaking after the game, the German tactician said he trusts his players stating that he knew what was done and what they missed.

While stating that it’s a normal phenomenon, he said he always tries to make sure his team doesn’t lose.

PSG will travel to Germany for the first leg of the knockout clash and play the all-important second leg of the tie at home in a fortnight.

They still sit comfortably on top of the Ligue 1 Conforama standings with a ten-point separating them from the second-place Olympique Marseille.

Marseille had claimed an important away win away against in-form LOSC on Sunday night.

In the other game, AS Monaco continued their resurgence in league with a  1-0 win over Montpellier, which took fifth place, three points adrift the third.

Borussia Dortmund is fancied at 2,90 to win the encounter, while PSG is set at 2.31.
