UEFA Nations League: Spain vs. Switzerland Preview

Spain take on the Rossocrociati in their third game of the UEFA Nations League, here’s the preview.

Spain will be hoping to claim two consecutive wins in the 2020-21 UEFA Nations League as they face fellow League A Group 4 opponents Switzerland on Saturday night.

Luis Enrique’s men are top of the table after securing four points from their last two games, while opponents Switzerland are currently bottom of the table after they managed one point from their two games so far.

Switzerland commenced their 2020-21 UEFA Nations League campaign with a loss. They lost 2-1 to Ukraine back in September 3 before holding on to a draw in a 1-1 draw with Germany three days later, picking up a point in the process.

Vladimir Petkovic’s side finds themselves at the base of Group 4 with one point, however, they will be buoyed by their impressive performance against Germany in their last fixture.

Switzerland also comes to the match after losing 2-1 to Croatia in a friendly but desperately need to step up as they Spain and Germany away in their next fixtures.

Spain has been in incredible form after their dismal 2018 World Cup outing.  The 2010 World Cup winners have successfully gone unbeaten in all competitions since losing to Croatia in the 2018-19 edition of the UEFA Nations League; that’s an amazing run of 14 matches.

La Roja will be aiming to put claim three points and solidify their lead at the table. They also need a win to boost their confidence ahead of their fourth game in the group away to Ukraine on October 13.

Spain played out a goalless draw with Portugal in a friendly a few days back.
