The draws for Europe’s secondary competition, Europa League was made on Monday in Nyon, Switzerland.and the stage has been set for the round of 32 as teams from different leagues take on each other.
English Premier League side Manchester United will play against Belgian Champions Club Brugge in the round of 32 stages. Furthermore, fellow Premier League side and last year’s runner-up in the competition Arsenal will face Greek side Olympiakos.
Club Brugge dropped into the Europa League spot after they failed to progress to the round of 16, finishing third in the Champions League group stages which included the likes of Paris St. Germain and Spanish giants Real Madrid.
Ajax Amsterdam was another side which was transferred across from the group stages of the Champions League, and they have been pitched to face Spanish side Getafe with the first leg in Spain.
About three seasons ago, Man United beat Ajax in the Europa League final to secure passage to the Champions League.
Other teams that made the switch across as third-place finishers in their group include Benfica and Shakhtar Donetsk who were drawn to play against each other.
The Italian side, Inter Milan will take on Ludogorets Razgrad while Salzburg will face Eintracht Frankfurt.
Arsenal will play their first leg in Greece as five-time record holder Sevilla plays Romanian side Cluj and Roma will take on Gent.
The first leg of this competition will be played on the 20th of February 2020 with the return games on 27th of February. While the final will take place on the 27th of May 2020 in Gdansk, Poland.
