West Ham retains David Moyes after Conference League success

After the UEFA Europa Conference League success after West Ham United beat Fiorentina to the title last Wednesday in Prague, Czech Republic, West Ham United has decided to stick to David Moyes for another season.

The 60-year-old manager will hope to do better in the Premier League next season and also replicate another European success after ending West Ham United 40 years wait for a major title.

David Moyes and his West Ham United side hobbled and wobbled their way to the Premier League safety last season and also saw his team to the final of the conference league, where they faced Fiorentina winning by a late goal from Jared Bowen to beat the Italians 2-1 and secure the UEFA Europa League football for next season despite finishing just a few points and places above the drop zone.

Despite seemingly close to getting sacked last season, David Moyes managed to keep his job and has now revealed that he would continue in his position at the London Stadium for the 2023/24 season. He made the disclosure on Monday while the Hammers were at their trophy parade for the conference league title win.

“I hope we can continue to make progress. I think we have done over the last two or three years, and last night was progress because we won a trophy. It was massive for us to win a trophy. It’s very hard to compete at the top end every season, but all you can do is try your best every season, and that’s what we do – and next season, that’s what we’ll do.” Moyes said.

David Moyes will have to do this next season without key player Declan Rice who will leave and has been mentioned to be close to a move to Arsenal, while German club side Bayern Munich is also keen on signing the English International.
