England Falls To Australia In Final Test

England’s tour of Australia has come to an embarrassing end after losing the final Test to Australia by 146 runs, allowing the hosts to win The Ashes series 4-0. England was no match for Australia as they found it hard to get their footing in all of the games they played. Even after making changes to the squad, England could not just get the better of Australia.

England was able to reach 68-0 on day three while chasing 271. But they then lost all 10 wickets for 56 and eventually were bowled out for 124. Mark Wood had set the pace to give England a shot at winning with five wickets, and went on to make 6-37, which helped dismiss Australia for 155. But all of that went to dust as the home team was able to pull through and emerge the winners at the end of the day.

The final Test had England at their best in the beginning but they could not sustain it for long and eventually fell to defeat, which has become sort of a trend for them. The country has only won one out of 14 Tests since last year February.

A lot of things contributed to their performance, including the fact that they did not have enough time to train. But that can hardly be an excuse as they were active the whole of 2021. Same cannot be said for Australia, who only played four Tests in more than one year, due to the pandemic.

But all that time may have allowed them to train and prepare hard to face their next opponent. In 2023, they would travel to the UK for the Ashes, where they hope to beat England to get their first victory in 22 years, while England continues to search for their first Test win in almost a year.
