F1 Prepares For First Race Of The Season

After more than 3 months of inactivity, Formula 1 is set to hit the tracks again for the 2021 season. The first race of the season, the Bahrain GP, holds this weekend on the 28th of March. Teams have already unveiled the cars that would take them to the top of the leaderboard this season and we have seen some test runs, enough to assure us that this new season has a lot in stock for us.

As far as the cars go, what we would see on the track this year is almost similar to what we saw last season, and, in some cases, the only difference is a paint job. Teams have had to maximise the little chance given to them by F1 to make slight modifications to their cars. So, we do not expect to notice any major improvement in the cars, particularly those that had troubles last year as they can only make changes to the engine from next season.

We also see some drivers change their colours. Teams are doing all they can do to be better this year and this includes having new hands behind the wheels. Some of the changes include Carlos Sainz who is the second driver at Ferrari, replacing Sebastian Vettel. Daniel Ricciardo is the new guy in McLaren while Sergio Perez joins Red Bull. Sir Lewis Hamilton remains in Mercedes as he races for an eighth world championship.

This season would also feature the most races in recent times as we explore 23 races in one year. There are some new tracks, like the street track at Jeddah, location for the Saudi Arabian GP, which is also the second-longest track of the season.

All in all, it looks like it would be a very interesting season, much better than last year that was impacted by the pandemic. We await the final results on March 28 to get a glimpse into the direction things might go.
