Weidman wants to stun the world again

American mixed martial artist Christopher James Weidman is yet to face his next opponent Dominick Reyes but is already cooking up huge plans ahead.

Though his clash against The Devastator hasn’t played out yet, you will be shocked by what plans Weidman has in the works, in case he comes out with a win.

The 35-year-old wants to challenge his compatriot Jon Jones to another match. He is on a mission to shock the MMA community once again.

Later this month, Weidman has been scheduled to make his light heavyweight debut at UFC Boston in a bout against Dominick Reyes. It is now common knowledge that the champion of the match will have two-time undisputed UFC light heavyweight champion Jon Jones to contend with for the 205-pound title in the next stage.

However, speculations among the media have it that a win for Weidman will not necessarily result in the much-anticipated title showdown against Jones. He might well have to go through a few other hurdles before getting the big game.

Weidman has no qualms, insisting he can wait forever for another game with Jones, reiterating that they were always destined to meet again.

In an interview with Submission Radio, ‘The All-American’ as he is dubbed by his stans said, “It does not matter the division, I’m comfortable against anybody inside that cage.”

“Obviously, Jon Jones being the champ is the guy I’m gunning for, and he’s the kind of guy I’ve always wanted to fight. When I was even 185-pound champion, I knew at some point we were going to fight, and so I see that at some point”. Weidman said.

It is evident that Weidman is not in this fight entirely for the money and title involved, but also because of the fighter in question. He has always had dreams to face Jones ever since his wrestling days at the 185-pound level.

During his successful stint at the middleweight division, he turned champion in 2013, humbling Anderson Silva to claim the title. That win sent shock waves around the world.

The All American will have a chance to repeat history should he manage to get a game against the champ, Jon Jones. Hopefully, he will take his long-awaited chance if it eventually arrives.
