Brown Explodes for 50 as Celtics Roll; Big Nights Across Busy NBA Slate

Jaylen Brown delivered one of the most explosive performances of the NBA season, pouring in 50 points as the Boston Celtics overpowered the Los Angeles Clippers 146-115 on Saturday night in Inglewood. Brown matched a career high, while Derrick White added 29 points in a dominant display that snapped the Clippers’ six-game winning streak.

Boston shot a blistering 55.2 percent from the field and equalled its season high for points, capping a 4-1 road trip and improving to 12-3 since Nov. 30. Kawhi Leonard and John Collins scored 22 points apiece for Los Angeles, while James Harden posted 18 points and 12 assists in the loss.

In Miami, the Minnesota Timberwolves continued their recent uptick with a 125-115 win over the Miami Heat. Anthony Edwards led the way with 33 points, backed by a huge bench showing from Naz Reid, who scored 29. Julius Randle added 23 points and 10 rebounds as Minnesota won for the fifth time in eight games.

The Philadelphia 76ers got a road win behind Tyrese Maxey’s 36-point outburst, defeating the New York Knicks 130-119. Maxey shot 14-of-22 from the floor, while Joel Embiid chipped in 26 points and 10 rebounds. New York suffered its third straight loss despite 31 points from Jalen Brunson.

Toronto enjoyed another strong night against Atlanta as the Toronto Raptors beat the Atlanta Hawks 134-117. RJ Barrett and Brandon Ingram each scored 29 points, helping the Raptors complete a season sweep of the Hawks so far.

A triple-double from Deni Avdija powered the Portland Trail Blazers past the short-handed San Antonio Spurs 115-110. Avdija finished with 29 points, 11 rebounds and 10 assists, while rookie Donovan Clingan recorded a career-high 24 points.

In San Francisco, Stephen Curry scored 20 of his 31 points in the third quarter as the Golden State Warriors rallied to beat the Utah Jazz 123-114, overcoming a double-digit deficit and the ejection of Draymond Green.

Elsewhere, the Dallas Mavericks held off the Houston Rockets 110-104 behind 26 points from Anthony Davis, while the Charlotte Hornets snapped a skid with a 112-99 win over the Chicago Bulls, led by Miles Bridges’ 26-point, 14-rebound effort.

Across the league, Saturday’s action showcased elite scoring, resilience on the road, and the growing importance of depth as teams navigate a demanding stretch of the season.
