Curry Shoots Career-high 62 Against Trail Blazers

Steph Curry has reached a new career-high after shooting 62 points on Sunday night as the Golden State Warriors triumphed over Portland Trail Blazers 137-122. Curry was able to gather all those points in just 36 minutes.

This is similar to a record held by NBA legend Kobe Bryant who scored 62 points in 33 minutes back in 2005. Curry is also the second oldest player to drop 60 points at age 32 while Bryant did the same at 37 years on the night he retired. This is also the highest score racked up by a Warriors player since Rick Barry scored 64 points in 1974 and Klay Thompson had 60 points in 2016. Curry’s last career-high was 54 points back in 2013 in a game against the New York Knicks.

The record is indeed impressive and marks Curry’s seventh 50-point game. Part of the score consisted of eight 3-points, his 49th in his career. He also took 19 free-throws on Sunday night, scoring 18 of them. he shot a total of 31 shots, making points with most of them. The night was indeed Curry’s night as the team put him in the spotlight, giving him most of the balls to take a shot with and making chances for him.

Curry has been facing much heat from his critics since this season started because of the performance of his team. Sunday’s win has now improved the Warriors, record to 3-3 and Curry has proven to his critics that he is still very much in charge. He currently has a game stats of 32.3 points per game this season, second to James Harden who is averaging 37 points per game.

Curry has a lot of work to do this season as regards carrying his team. It is obvious all hopes are on him and he might begin to feel the pressure increase after his latest career record. This is his best game this season, so far and he has managed to shove the naysayers off a bit. Carrying the team would not be easy but there is nothing too difficult for Curry to accomplish this time.
