After more than a decade of NBA action and over 1,600 combined games, brothers Stephen Curry and Seth Curry finally achieved a long-awaited milestone—playing together in the same game, on the same team.
The historic moment came on Sunday night as the Golden State Warriors faced the Houston Rockets. Although the Warriors fell just short in a 117-116 defeat, the result took a backseat to a deeply personal and emotional highlight for the Curry family.
It marked the first time this season both brothers were available to play, after Seth joined Golden State as a free agent in December and Steph spent weeks recovering from a knee injury that had sidelined him since late January.
Steph, 38, made an immediate impact on his return, scoring 29 points in just 26 minutes. But the defining moment came midway through the second quarter, when he checked into the game and joined his younger brother on the court.
“That was special,” Steph said. “We’ve both had a very difficult year. Honestly, him more than me with injuries. I was joking, calling us the ‘Rehab Brothers’, because it’s been like that all year.
“But to have that moment coming out of a timeout and talking about our matchups, I was having flashbacks to Charlotte Christian High School. My senior year, his sophomore year is the last time we actually played in an actual game.”
For Seth, 35, the experience was equally meaningful. In his 13 minutes on the court, he contributed six points but valued the shared moment far more than the stats.
“We’ve played against each other for a while now. For us to be on the same floor together as teammates was a different dynamic,” he said. “A dream come true.”
Watching from the stands was their mother, Sonya, capturing the occasion on her phone—another layer to a moment rooted in family and shared history.
“Basketball’s been a part of our whole lives,” Steph reflected. “And the fact that at this stage of both of our careers, that we’ve had this opportunity… you definitely take a moment to reflect.”
Seth made sure the memory would last. After the game, he asked for Steph’s jersey, planning to frame both of theirs side by side.
For Steph, it was game No. 1,065 in a legendary career filled with four NBA titles and two MVP awards. Yet even among those achievements, Sunday night stood apart—a rare, heartfelt chapter written alongside his brother.
