Gary Payton II feels that his shooting is same as of many elite NBA players but not close to teammate Stephen Curry

The Golden State Warriors have been exceptional in the NBA this season. They are currently looking like the best team in the NBA right now and they are not even at their full power yet. With players like James Wiseman and Klay Thompson set to return from long spells of injury, the Warriors are all set to explode and take their game to the next level.

However, they have been very consistent this season and it is not only on Step-hen Curry who has been at his brilliant best. Their rise has been mostly because of their role players and one of their pillars has to be former G League man Gary Payton II. He has great belief in himself and knows where he belongs in this team.

Payton II is the son of the great Gary Payton. Replicating his father, Payton II is also a very good defensive guard and Steve Kerr has wonderfully managed to fit him in this team as a great role player. Payton II is easily one of the most important players in the Warriors lineup. He is one of the pillars of this team and his presence makes the Warriors one of the best defensive sides in the league. In a recent interview, Payton II showed that he has immense confidence in his abilities.

Payton II has been pretty decent in his shooting but he knows his place when compared to the great Stephen Curry. The 29-year-old guard came as a blessing for the Golden State Warriors. They lost Klay Thompson and James Wiseman and needed someone to fill up that role especially on the defensive side of things. The trio of Andrew Wiggins, Draymond Green and Payton II has been extremely vital for the Warriors this season. Payton also has added that extra punch with his efficient shooting. The 29-year-old guard is averaging six points per game while shooting at a high 65% from the field. It is a really impressive statistic for the Warriors, especially from the bench.

Payton II feels that his shooting is not short of elite players in the NBA but cannot dare compare himself with the legendary Steph Curry. “I obviously don’t shoot like f**king Steph Curry, but I do damn near everything else elite,” the 29-year-old stated.
