Golden State Warriors talisman Draymond Green happy with their playoff matchup against the Denver Nuggets in the first round

The Playoffs season is upon us and teams are gearing up for the business end of the NBA. Similarly, the Golden State Warriors finished third in the Western Conference behind the Phoenix Suns and the Memphis Grizzlies. Therefore the Warriors will take on the Denver Nuggets in the first round of the postseason.

The Denver Nuggets are a formidable unit led by their MVP calibre center Nikola Jokic. So it won’t be a smooth sailing ride for Steph Curry, Klay Thompson and company. Recently Warriors talisman Draymond Green shared his thoughts on facing the Nuggets in the first round of the playoffs. On his “Draymond Green Show,” the 3-time All-Star expressed his excitement about the pairing with the Nuggets.

Green feels that it is a good matchup for the Warriors and he sounded reasonably confident in his podcast. “We have the Denver Nuggets, which I’m extremely excited about,” Green stated. “Number one, I think in going into play Denver, I think this is a it’s a pretty good matchup for us.”

Green shared how he is wary of Nikola Jokic and how he feels that the Joker is going to be declared as the MVP this season. Although he added that he does not think the big center will be his choice for MVP this year.

Jokic has been good all season and is one of the leading contenders to win the MVP award this season. He is currently leading the race with a few names behind him. So it is more or less certain that Jokic will be crowned as the MVP soon.

“Obviously, they have Joker, one of the leading candidates for the MVP award, who I think will win the MVP. Not that that’s my MVP choice, but I do think he will win the MVP.”

The Warriors will have the home-court advantage when they go up against the Nuggets for Game 1 at the Chase Center on Easter Sunday. It was back in 2013 when the Warriors and the Nuggets met in the playoffs. It was Steph Curry who led the Dubs to a 4-2 win over Denver.

Overall the Warriors are expected to go through but it won’t be easy especially with Nikola Jokic putting up crazy MVP level numbers to help the Nuggets keep up the pressure.
