Golden State Warriors will not win championship if Andrew Wiggins doesn’t show up – Stephen A. Smith

NBA analyst Stephen A. Smith has predicted that Golden State Warriors will not be able to win the title if Andrew Wiggins doesn’t play at his best. GSW will take on Eastern Conference finals winners Boston Celtics in the NBA Finals.

A lot of NBA boffins reckon that the Dubs will have the favorite tag against the Celtics. GSW has made it to the last six NBA finals in the last eight seasons whereas this will be the first finals for the Celtics since 2010.

GSW has come up with a collective show throughout the regular and the postseason as the likes of Klay Thompson, Draymond Green, Jordan Poole, and Steph Curry have been amazing for Steve Kerr’s team. However, Smith feels it will be difficult for GSW to lift the coveted Larry O’Brien trophy if Wiggins doesn’t show up in the finals.

Smith said on ESPN’s First Take, “I’m gonna tell you who the key to this series is going to be, who changes everything. Wiggins, he’s got to show up.

“The Golden State Warriors, with Klay, with Steph, with the evolution of Jordan Poole, will not win the championship if Andrew Wiggins does not show up.”

The veteran ESPN analyst continued: “The Andrew Wiggins that we saw in the series against Dallas? That’s the guy that has to show up against Boston.”

Meanwhile, Andrew Wiggins was mundane in the regular season for GSW. However, he was able to turn the tables in the postseason, especially in the Western Conference finals against Dallas Mavericks. The 26-year-old forward has played an instrumental role in the success of the team with his shot-making and defensive skills. GSW will look to keep Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown at bay in the NBA Finals.
