The New York Knicks continued their dominant run at Madison Square Garden on Sunday night, rolling past the Brooklyn Nets 134-98 in a wire-to-wire victory powered by Karl-Anthony Towns’ latest double-double.
Towns posted 28 points and 12 rebounds, marking his eighth double-double of the season and 66th since joining the Knicks on October 2, 2024. The win pushed New York to a perfect 6-0 at home and 4-0 on its seven-game homestand. Away from home, however, the Knicks remain winless at 0-3.
Jalen Brunson and OG Anunoby each added 19 points as New York shot an impressive 54.5 percent from the floor, including 17-of-37 from beyond the arc. The Knicks’ defense was equally sharp, holding Brooklyn to just 40.2 percent shooting and forcing multiple dry spells that kept the Nets out of rhythm all night.
Michael Porter Jr. led the Nets with 25 points, while Drake Powell added 15 off the bench. Nic Claxton contributed 12 points and Egor Demin and Day’Ron Sharpe scored 10 apiece. Brooklyn, now 1-9, struggled to contain New York’s spacing and tempo, falling behind early and never recovering.
Elsewhere in the league, the Detroit Pistons edged out the Philadelphia 76ers 111-108, led by Cade Cunningham’s 26 points and 11 assists. Jalen Duren recorded a powerful 21-point, 16-rebound effort, while Duncan Robinson added 17. Tyrese Maxey’s potential game-tying 3-pointer at the buzzer rattled out, sealing Detroit’s sixth straight victory.
In San Francisco, the Golden State Warriors dismantled the short-handed Indiana Pacers 114-83 behind Jimmy Butler III’s 21 points and Al Horford’s sharp shooting off the bench. The Warriors broke open a tight game in the third quarter, outscoring Indiana 35-14 to pull away.
Minnesota cruised past Sacramento 144-117, with Anthony Edwards scoring 26 points and Rudy Gobert adding 19 points and 12 rebounds. The Timberwolves’ balanced attack overwhelmed the Kings, who have now lost six of their last eight.
Houston rallied late to top Milwaukee 122-115 behind Kevin Durant’s 31 points and a crucial stretch in the fourth quarter. Despite Giannis Antetokounmpo’s 37-point outing, missed free throws in the closing minutes cost the Bucks.
In Orlando, Boston surged in the final frame to defeat the Magic 111-107, led by Jaylen Brown’s 27 points and Anfernee Simons’ timely shooting off the bench.
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander capped the night with a 35-point performance as the Oklahoma City Thunder erased a 19-point deficit to beat Memphis 114-100, extending their dominance over the Grizzlies to 10 straight regular-season games.
