LeBron James believes that the Los Angeles Lakers are yet to realize their potential this season

The Lakers were considered as one of the favourites to win the NBA Championship heading into the new season. However, the Purple and Gold Army have not done anything to prove that fact yet. They do have a team filled with All-Stars, from the starting five to the bench they have a roster filled with experience and talent. But the team have not managed to reflect that on the court this season.

However despite all their issues four-time MVP LeBron James feels that the Los Angeles Lakers are one of the strongest and flexible lineups in the entire league and will step up when needed. The Akron Hammer feels that the Lakers are varied in their talent and can pull off any unusual lineup like the one without a center in the middle. LeBron even claimed that the Lakers have not yet realized their potential as a unit.

The Purple and Gold Army have suffered persistent injury problems. The coaching staff have hardly got all the players fit in a single game. LeBron himself has missed 12 games due to injury concerns, a game suspension and also a health and safety protocol debacle.

The 36-year-old feels that the team should not make any changes until the entire roster is fit and healthy. He feels that once that happens then the team will show its true potential to the other teams in the NBA. “It’s impossible for me to say ‘OK, when do we get to a point where we need to make a change?‘” James said.

“And I don’t think we even need to do that. I love every guy that’s in this locker room and I believe in what we’re capable of doing,” James expressed. “I love what Rob and coach and the front office did to assemble this team, and we look forward to the journey ahead of us.”

Recently the Lakers have chosen an unusual lineup with LeBron at five. Although the lineup is not so big they have gelled really well and the results have fared well. The team has massive versatility of different talents and skillsets. All they need to do is to remain healthy and gel together as a unit in the upcoming games. The Los Angeles Lakers are currently sixth in the Western Conference with a record of 13-12. Although it is unacceptable for the fans and for the team management as they thought of regaining the NBA title, LeBron feels that time will do its magic for this current Lakers roster.
