NBA Analyst Chris Broussard feels that Mavs star Luka Doncic is very similar to Celtics legend Larry Bird

Boston Celtics legend Larry Bird is a Hall of Famer and one of the greatest to play the game. Very few players of this generation have been compared to the Celtics legend. The 12 times All-Star has publicly said one to not compare him with the other greats of the game.  He once even said that he is only concerned about winning matches and championships and feels there is no point in comparing players.

“What’s the point of comparing? I do what I do; it’s either good enough or it’s not,” Bird said. “I’m concerned with one thing, and that’s helping the team win. Boring as that sounds, it’s the truth.”

But recently in an NBA show called the Odd Couple where Chris Broussard and Rob Parker discuss everything happening in the league, they shared the opinion that Dallas Mavericks talisman Luka Doncic has shades of Larry Bird in his playing style and body language.

It was Broussard who made the comparison as he admitted that Doncic may not be in the greatest of all-time conversation but the Slovenian can very well be in the top 10 players ever once he retires. He shared how the former Real Madrid man has been sensational for the Mavericks this season and can go on to become Larry Bird of the modern generation.

“I think he could be a Larry Bird. I think he’s a new age version of Larry Bird,” Broussard said. “He could be, perhaps, top 10 players of all time. I don’t think he could be in the GOAT conversation ever, but obviously, at 23 years old, he’s doing a lot.”

Doncic has led the Mavericks to the Conference finals as he dropped a huge performance in Game 7 to win against the Phoenix Suns. They simply annihilated the Suns, winning Game 7 by 123-90 scoreline. They simply dominated Chris Paul and Devin Booker to close out the series. Luka Doncic dropped a mammoth double double as he scored 35 points and ten rebounds to help his team to victory.

The Mavs under his leadership at such a tender age have reached uncharted territory this season courtesy of the big Slovenian. Despite going down 2-0 the Mavs kept their belief and returned to the series.with resounding wins.

Doncic and his men will be up against Steph Curry’s army of the Golden State Warriors. They are here in the Conference finals beating the Memphis Grizzlie sin Game 6
