Real Madrid and Barcelona both draw in respective La Liga matches

Real Madrid and Barcelona were together on Sunday, held to stalemates by a weaker side when they faced in the La Liga. The Los Blancos, who are champions of the La Liga, faced Cadiz away from home while Barcelona travelled to Getafe.

Both giants have already secured the UEFA Champions League spots for next season, while Real Madrid still have a chance of the double as they face Liverpool on May 28 in the UEFA Champions League final in Paris.

The contest with the Reds, who have won two trophies, including the FA Cup and the Carabao Cup, is one on the back of the mind of Carlo Ancellotti’s mind as he rested Karim Benzema, Vinicius Jnr, and Thibaut Courtois for yeh Cadiz game.

The Los Blancos were well outplayed by their host even though Carlo Ancellotti’s side got into the lead early through Rodrygo. However, the goal was not enough to convince Ancellotti about putting Rodrygo in the starting lineup in Paris.

“There is a full squad and not just 11 players. Maybe they’ll start, or maybe they won’t, but they will definitely play, [Valverde] needs to make the most of his long shot, which he has been doing more in recent matches. I think it’s good for him and us for him to try shooting more.” Ancelotti said.

Ancelotti revealed that there is always a doubt over every Real Madrid match with the quality on display at the Santiago Bernabeu.

Real Madrid will face Real Betis in their final game of the La Liga season before their UEFA Champions League season-ending final game against Liverpool.

Barcelona are assured of second place on the La Liga table but played a 0-0 draw with Getafe.

Sevilla held Atletico Madrid to a 1-1 draw while Real Sociedad defeated Villareal 2-1.
