NBA Analyst Nick Wright feels extensions given to Jordan Poole and Andrew Wiggins increases chances of Draymond Green getting traded

The Golden State Warriors will open the new season against the Los Angeles Lakers with the aim of defending their NBA Championship. However the positive atmosphere around the camp was totally disrupted by an altercation that happened between Draymond Green and Jordan Poole during a Warriors’ training session.

It was one of the hottest topics of discussion in the NBA world as Green threw a punch towards Poole. However Green has apologized and Poole has said that they are looking to hang more banners and that is the primary goal, some experts believe that the timing of extensions for players like Jordan Poole and Andrew Wiggins means there are possibilities of Draymond Green getting traded.

Draymond Green has been the heart and soul of this Warriors franchise and that has been the case for many years. The experienced man offers several traits in one and it will be one hard call even for the management if they decide to take a call. However NBA Analyst Nick Wright believes that the indications are clear and according to him Green may get traded.

“What is noteworthy about this is the timing because I do not believe, now that they’ve decided to give Poole the extension and to give Wiggins the extension,” Wright said. “I do not believe they are giving Draymond an extension. And I think the odds of Draymond being traded, as I said last week, I thought he would be traded before the deadline, just increased exponentially because you could get things of value for Draymond Green.”

Both Poole and Wiggins had great years last time out and both were very crucial to the Warriors in their title run. Wiggins also made his first All Star appearances and averaged 17.2 points, 4.5 rebounds and 2.2 assists last season. Whereas Poole  averaged 18.5 points, 3.4 rebounds and 4.0 assists with some exceptional long range shooting abilities. So handing them extensions made sense but Wright feels that the timing of the extensions is totally off and will not work in favour of Green.

Green has been with the Warriors ever since they drafted him in the second round in 2012 and since then he has won four Championship rings with the latest one coming last season.
