NBA Insider Adrian Wojnarowski feels Celtics star Robert Williams III will be back from injury this Christmas

The Boston Celtics have had a good start to the current season after they reached the NBA Finals last season. However they have a major missing in Robert Williams III who has been sidelined with injury. Nicknamed as the Timelord, he underwent a knee surgery in September and now he is on his path to recovery.

The Celtics are currently 14-4 and are at the top of the Eastern Conference with the entire team doing really well. Currently Al Horford or Grant Williams are stepping up in the center position in Timelord’s absence and they have done a fair job till now. With Robert Williams III returning the Celtics will be more efficient in defense and there will be a certain value addition in their offense aswell.

Considering his surgery happened in September NBA Insider Adrian Wojnarowski shared how Timelord should be back on court in another month from now on. However he also added that the Celtics would like to take their time as even without him they have been phenomenal. “That gives him another month here, he’s progressing well on his rehab,” NBA insider Adrian Wojnarowski said on ESPN’s “NBA Countdown.” “This is a player who had two surgeries in the last calendar year. They certainly want to take their time. Even without him, the Celtics have the best record in the NBA.”

The Celtics are already one of the most balanced teams in the NBA, they have the best record and with Robert WIlliams III coming back things will only improve. Considered as one of the best rim protectors in the NBA, Timelord plays a big role at both ends of the court and his addition will take this Celtics team even higher in terms of level.

Jayson Tatum shared how much the Celtics miss their Timelord but they also dont want to force him back to the court prematurely. “We’ll be that much better of a team. That’s how important Rob is to our group. I can’t stress enough how important he is to the offensive end, defensive end, his presence, lob threat, protecting the rim and his ability to pass the ball. Obviously, we miss him, but we don’t want to rush him back because we want to win when it matters most,” Tatum lauded Robert Williams III.

But above all it will be a tough task for Williams as returning from a knee injury is always difficult. So if he wants to return by Christmas, he will have to be very gradual with the entire progress in his health. The management would like to avoid another injury in this process so they will be looking to take as much time as needed to recover from this injury.
