NBA: Steph Curry Passes Ray Allen on All-Time Scoring List as Warriors Defeat Thunder

The Golden State Warriors secured a hard-fought 116-109 victory over the Western Conference-leading Oklahoma City Thunder on Wednesday night, overcoming the absence of key players Draymond Green and Jonathan Kuminga.

While MVP candidate Shai Gilgeous-Alexander poured in a staggering 52 points for the Thunder, the Warriors relied on a collective effort, with Steph Curry leading the charge.

Curry, who recently returned from injury, contributed 21 points to Golden State’s win. However, the night was extra special for the two-time MVP as he surpassed Boston Celtics legend Ray Allen to claim the 27th spot on the NBA’s all-time scoring list. With this milestone, Curry eclipsed Allen’s career total of 24,505 points.

This isn’t the first time Curry has overtaken Allen in the record books. On December 14, 2021, he surpassed Allen to become the NBA’s all-time leader in three-pointers made during a game against the New York Knicks.

Heading into the fourth quarter tied at 84-84, the Warriors found a way to close out the game against an elite Oklahoma City squad. Despite the offensive explosion from Gilgeous-Alexander, Golden State managed to limit the rest of the Thunder’s roster, securing a much-needed win.

The victory marked a turnaround for the Warriors, who had lost three of their last four games, including a tough loss to the Los Angeles Lakers. Now riding a two-game winning streak, they will look to carry that momentum into Friday’s Pacific Division showdown against the Phoenix Suns at Chase Center. Both teams enter the contest with identical 24-win records, making it a crucial battle in the Western Conference standings.
