Ruben Amorim Urges Rashford to Adapt for Manchester United Return

Manchester United head coach Ruben Amorim has made it clear that Marcus Rashford must undergo a change in attitude if he wants to return to action for the club. Speaking ahead of United’s final Europa League league phase match against Steaua Bucharest on Thursday, Amorim emphasized the need for commitment and discipline from all players.

The England striker has been absent from United’s lineup since last month after admitting he was ready for a fresh challenge in his career. Amorim, however, has insisted that Rashford’s talent alone is not enough to secure a spot in the squad.

“Imagine a talent like Rashford, our team should be so much better with him. But he has to change,” Amorim told reporters on Wednesday. “If he changes, we are more than welcome (to include him), and we need it. But at this moment, we have to set some standards. We are waiting for Rashford if he wants it really bad.”

The Portuguese manager, known for his strict approach to squad discipline, reinforced that he holds every player to the same standards, regardless of their reputation.

“I have to make the same rules for everybody,” he stated. “We are a better team with Rashford, that is clear, but until the right moment, I will not change my mind.”

Rashford, who has been a key player for United since his debut in 2015, has made 287 Premier League appearances for the club. Despite his experience and contributions, Amorim’s comments suggest that the 26-year-old must prove his dedication before being reintegrated into the squad.

United heads into Thursday’s Europa League clash knowing that a draw would be enough to secure direct qualification to the round of 16. A positive result could provide a much-needed boost in what has been a challenging season for the Red Devils.

“I think it is clear we can improve as a team, all of us, if we have time to train and if we put some wins together. So, it will be so much easier,” Amorim said.

As United prepares for their crucial fixture, Rashford’s future at the club remains uncertain. Whether he takes Amorim’s advice to heart could determine his role in United’s plans moving forward.
