Nikola Jokić Leads Denver Nuggets Past Sacramento Kings in High-Scoring 130-124 Win

The Denver Nuggets continued their dominance at home with a 130-124 win over the Sacramento Kings on Monday night, opening their four-game homestand in style. The victory pushed Denver’s record to 4-2 on the young season, maintaining their unbeaten streak at Ball Arena. 

Remarkably, the Nuggets have yet to trail in a home game this season. All three of their home victories have been wire-to-wire, showcasing both their consistency and control. The offensive efficiency was once again on full display, as Denver shot over 50 percent from the field for the fifth time in six games — the first time in franchise history they have achieved that feat. 

The Nuggets now join elite company: the 2024-25 Cleveland Cavaliers, the 2008-09 Phoenix Suns, and the 2003-04 Utah Jazz as the only NBA teams to do so since 1999.

Nikola Jokić was the star of the night, recording a season-best 34 points along with 14 rebounds and 7 assists. The reigning MVP candidate also expanded his shooting range, attempting a season-high 10 three-pointers and converting four. His balance of scoring, rebounding, and playmaking once again underscored his ability to dictate the game’s tempo and flow.

Complementing Jokić’s brilliance was Christian Braun, who had one of his most assertive offensive performances of the season. The young guard poured in 21 points on an efficient 7-of-10 shooting, repeatedly attacking the rim and finishing through contact. His aggressiveness gave Denver a much-needed boost whenever Sacramento threatened to close the gap.

Off the bench, Bruce Brown made a significant impact on both ends of the floor. He tallied 13 points on 5-of-10 shooting, including a perfect 2-of-2 from beyond the arc, while also contributing 6 rebounds and 3 assists. His energy and defensive hustle were pivotal in keeping the Kings’ perimeter threats in check.

The win reaffirmed Denver’s offensive rhythm early in the season, driven by fluid ball movement and strong shooting percentages across the roster. While the Kings managed to keep the score close with their own offensive firepower, they struggled to contain the Nuggets’ frontcourt dominance and shooting consistency.
