Nobody in his right mind would doubt him – When Michael Finley showered praise on Michael Jordan

Michael Jordan is well regarded as one of the best players to have ever graced the game of Basketball. Jordan played a key role in revolutionising the sport and he was always known to give his absolute best on the court.

Even towards the fag end of his career, Jordan was a force to reckon with. The legendary player had an insatiable hunger to succeed at all times and his skills, athleticism and overall game separated him from the rest. In fact, it is well known that Jordan hated losing and always wanted his teammates to give more than 100%.

In 2002, Sports Illustrated writer Jack McCallum received a quote from former Dallas Mavericks All-Star guard, Michael Finley regarding Jordan’s heroics on the court.

“It seems that Ol’ Baldy has only one thing going for him: He’s Michael Jordan. “Nobody in his right mind would doubt him,” says the Dallas Mavericks’ All-Star swingman, Michael Finley, who frequently guarded His Airness in summer pickup games in Chicago.”

“He may not be able to do all the things physically he used to, but he’ll still be one of the best players in the league.”

In his swansong season for Washington Wizards, Jordan had three games with 40+ points and retired with an average of 20.0 points, 6.1 rebounds, and 3.8 assists per game. Furthermore, he also played all 82 games in his final season, which goes to show his fitness and dedication.

Meanwhile, Jordan won six NBA championships in his glorious career and achieved all the records in the books.

Jordan also has two separate three-peats in the NBA. He won the championships consecutively in 1991, 92, and 93 and then won it again in 96, 97, and 98 with the Chicago Bulls.
