Pascal Siakam delivered a dominant all-around performance to lift the Indiana Pacers to a dramatic 114-112 win over the Charlotte Hornets on Thursday night, snapping a 13-game losing streak and securing a historic milestone for head coach Rick Carlisle.
Siakam finished with 30 points and 14 rebounds and capped the night by making a driving layup with 11.5 seconds remaining. The basket sealed the Pacers’ first victory since December 8 and handed Carlisle his long-awaited 1,000th career coaching win. He had been stuck on 999 victories since Indiana defeated the Sacramento Kings in early December and now owns a 1,000-891 record across 24 NBA seasons.
T.J. McConnell provided a major spark with 23 points and eight assists, while Aaron Nesmith added 16 points for Indiana. The Hornets suffered another narrow home defeat despite a strong showing from LaMelo Ball, who came off the bench to score 33 points, knock down seven three-pointers and dish out eight assists.
Jazz End Skid Against Mavericks
The Utah Jazz halted a five-game losing streak with a 116-114 victory over the Dallas Mavericks, led by a stellar effort from Lauri Markkanen. Markkanen scored 33 points and grabbed seven rebounds to guide Utah home.

Klay Thompson hit six three-pointers for 23 points off the bench, and Anthony Davis chipped in with 21 points and 11 rebounds.
Timberwolves Roll, Edwards Hits 10,000
The Minnesota Timberwolves extended their winning streak to four games by beating the Cleveland Cavaliers 131-122. Julius Randle led the way with 28 points, 11 rebounds and eight assists, while Anthony Edwards added 25 points, nine assists and seven rebounds.
Edwards also reached a personal milestone, becoming the third-youngest player in NBA history to reach 10,000 career points, joining LeBron James and Kevin Durant. The Timberwolves held a pregame moment of silence for Renee Good, a 37-year-old woman who was fatally shot on Wednesday, adding a somber note to an otherwise memorable night.
Across the league, Thursday delivered clutch finishes, milestone moments and emotional scenes, highlighting the drama and depth of the NBA season.
