This is not about the Lakers and trying to win – Rob Parker feel LeBron James no longer cares about winning championships

NBA analyst Rob Parker reckons LA Lakers talisman LeBron James no longer cares about winning championships. Last week, the Lakers announced that James has agreed to extend his contract by two years and stay with the team for another season.

However, the Lakers haven’t added any significant player during the off-season. Players like Randle, Brook Lopez, Thomas Bryant (who was waived), and Alex Caruso have left the team as free agents.

Parker believes James is comfortable living in South California with his family and maybe has lost the motivation to fight for another championship as the team hasn’t made notable moves so far.

The 58-year-old from New York reckons James should stay away from Anthony Davis as the latter can not stay injury-free. Davis has been troubled by knee injuries in the last two seasons for the Lakers.

Rob Parker said while talking to the Odd Couple Podcast, “He is staying in Los Angeles not because he has another chance to win another championship with the group that he’s with,” Parker said. “It’s because he loves the sunshine. His businesses have flourished. His family loves living in Southern California.”

“This is not about the Lakers and trying to win. He saw this movie. It flopped at the box office, it should have gone straight to DVD. You’re bringing back the same group. He should run from Anthony Davis, he can’t stay healthy.”

Meanwhile, LeBron James had a stellar run in the previous season of the NBA. James averaged 30.3 points, 8.2 rebounds, and 6.2 assists in 56 games in 2021-22. He was also selected to play in his eighteenth All-Star games. But his efforts had gone in vain as the Lakers could not even qualify for the postseason.
