Toronto Raptors coach Darko Rajakovic feels Suns superstar Devin Booker is playing his best basketball right now

Toronto Raptors coach Darko Rajakovic is very impressed with Phoenix Suns superstar Devin Booker. He heaped praise on the guard during the post-game interaction. Rajakovic shared his admiration for Booker recalling his first impression of him when he saw him at 18 years of age when Rajakovic was with the OKC Thunder as their assistant coach.

Rajakovic shared how Booker was always thinking about basketball all the time and called him a basketball junkie. He felt his desire to be one of the best right when he was a youngster. “Devin is, first of all, a basketball junkie; he loves his basketball 24*7; he has got such a love and passion for the game,” Rajakovic said. “He entered our facility as 18 years old, and you could see his swag and desire to be great, and that stays to this day today.”

Later, the Raptors coach labels Booker as one of the best pick-and-roll players in the NBA. He also shared how there’s hardly any weakness in his game and believes that he is playing his best game right now.

“He is doing an outstanding job. He is one of the best pick-and-roll players in this whole league. It’s literally like you cannot find a weakness. He is playing the best basketball in his life right now,” Rajakovic added.

Booker headed into the game against the Raptors after delivering a sensational performance versus the Knicks. But sadly he couldn’t deliver the same against the Raptors. He suffered a knock on his ankle and headed to the locker room in the third quarter. Although he returned to the court, the Raptors won the game 112-105 against the Suns.

He finished the game with eight points from 32 minutes on the court while shooting two from 12 from the field.

Later, Phoenix Suns head coach Frank Vogel shared an update on Booker’s ankle injury which he suffered against the Raptors in the third quarter. He shared how Booker wanted to return to court immediately hoping that his ankle would loosen up.

When asked about his availability in the game against the Denver Nuggets, Vogel gave no definite answer. He said, “Yes, but we’ll see how Devin responds overnight.”

Booker has had a history of lower leg injuries. These issues kept him out near the preseason when he missed many games. The guard has missed eight games this season till now and that number may increase in the upcoming games.
