Wizards star Kyle Kuzma feels being a Laker is a double edged sword

Kyle Kuzma returned to Los Angeles as he led his team Washington Wizards against his former team. The flamboyant forward made a name for himself during his stint with the Lakers.

However, when asked about his stay in LA with the Purple and Gold Army, Kuzma termed it as a ‘double edged sword’.

His performance for the the Wizards has made him a very valuable asset for the franchise as several other teams are also showing interest in the Wizards forward.

Kuzma is someone who is very popular in trade rumours these days and even former team Lakers are also in the mix. The Lakers can actually get some help in getting him as he has been in very good form lately.

But Kuzma’s departure from LA was not the best as the trade off to Washington left a bad taste in his mouth. He recently explained how it was being a Laker and also shared his reaction on returning back to them.

“It’s a double-edged sword, a double-edged sword, for sure. I believe that it was some of the best things to ever happen to me, you know, getting drafted, being a Laker, having that platform. Having millions and millions of people globally know who you are, that’s a blessing. That’s part of being a Laker. Learning from LeBron, winning a championship — it’s all been great, ” Kuzma told in an interview with Fox Sports.

But Kuzma feels the end to his stint as a Laker was not fair. He shared how he had made sacrifices and felt the ending was not fair. “But at the same time, I always look back and wish I would’ve gotten the fairer end of the stick a little bit, just with my role and how much I sacrificed. It’s cool to sacrifice. That’s the only way you win championships, everybody has to sacrifice.”

“But, just getting the fairer end of the stick, I feel like I never really got [that]. But everything happens for a reason. I’m here now [in Washington], and I’ve been able to expand my game and flourish,” Kuzma concluded.

He believes that everything happens for a reason and feels that joining the Wizards has helped him showcase his talent and flourish more.

Honestly the move to Washington has done wonders for Kuzma as he has developed into a more well rounded player and is now gaining interest from many teams. He is finally fulfilling his potential and is due of a big contract next season.
