Conor McGregor has lashed out at the former president of the United States, Donald Trump, for picking Khabib Nurmagomedov as his favourite fighter, calling it a “campaign-ending decision”. The Irishman took to social media to deliver an insult-riddled reaction, targeted at both Trump and Khabib.
He wrote: “Campaign ending decision. A smelly fat mountain monkey from the inbred mountains of Dagestan is your favorite UFC (AMERICAN COMPANY) fighter? Wow. Abysmal.”
Going further, he wrote: “was actually wrong. Couple hundred million he is worth. Not multi B. I would have thought USA ONLY would be the mentality here and what I would want to see out of my president, personally. To pick a retired inbred fighter from Dagestan Russia who has 3 main events only to his…”
McGregor’s anger seems to be coming from the humiliating defeat he suffered in the hands of Khabib back in 2018. The fight ended in a submission-stoppage and McGregor seems to have not moved on from that event and has never failed to display how much he dislikes the Russian, who has been retired since 2020.
But McGregor is not the only one who had something to say. Michael Chandler stepped into the conversation to take shots at McGregor. Chandler and McGregor were scheduled to fight in June, until McGregor pulled out at the last minute. That would have been his first fight in three years.
Chandler wrote: “Stop it…. @TheNotoriousMMA. If you had half the balls that DT had would have shown up June 29th. Instead you’re normal walking, beer chuggin’ Austin 3:16 style at a local fight show/motorcycle rally in South Dakota, a RED, 100% #maga state by the way.”
This resulted in a back and forth between the two, with Chandler eventually adding that he is willing to bet his entire career on the fact that he would beat McGregor when they face in their match rescheduled for December.
This is the kind of drama McGregor is known for and to see him involve a former president in it just shows that there really is no limit for The Notorious.
