AC Milan set to sign young striker

AC Milan are pushing to sign 18-year-old striker Andrej Kostic in the current transfer window in a bid to reinforce their attack.

The Diavolo are already without Santiago Gimenez, while the duo of Niklas Fulkrugg and Rafael Leoa are in doubt for the team. Christopher Nkuku appears to be the only fit first-team striker at the San Siro club.

This might have prompted the club management to make a move for the young striker now instead of waiting till the summer and assessing their options.

La Gazzetta dello Sport reports that Milan already made an offer to sign him from Partizan Belgrade this month.

The paper further reported that Milan are pushing to sign Partizan talent on a permanent deal and have tabled an offer of €4m-5m to secure his signature in the current transfer window.

Milan had expressed interest in Kostic at the end of December. The striker’s agent, Darko Ristic, is also the representative of Juventus star Dusan Vlahovic, another Milan target in attack.

Normally, Kostic would initially play in the Milan Futuro squad in Serie D before gradually joining the senior team coached by Massimiliano Allegri. But being short in attack could prompt his integration into the senior squad earlier than planned.

Although Milan is also targeting Juventus ‘ want-away striker Vlahovic, their target of the Serbian is towards the summer, given that the contract of the Juventus star expires at the end of the season.

Kostic is second on the log of goalscorers for Partizan this season, with nine goals in 27 appearances across all competitions.

The 18-year-old who has only registered 791 minutes of football this season has averaged one goal every 88 minutes.

With such a return, Allegri is expected to give him some game time and see if he can help the team should Milan eventually convince him to join them in the current window.
