Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta speaks highly of Bukayo Saka but also points out areas to improve after win against Bodo/Glimt

Arsenal continued their winning run as they defeated Norwegian outfit Bodo/Glimt FC 1-0 in the Europa League group stage clash. The solitary goal for the Gunners was scored by young sensation Bukayo Saka. He was duly praised by the manager Mikel Arteta who was very impressed by the Englishman.

Saka had some luck as he played a beautiful one-two before gliding the ball into the net and handing the Gunners the lead in the first half. It was literally enough for the English outfit as they are on a roll at the moment in the Premier League and also in Europe.

Apart from Gabriel Jesus and Gabriel Martinelli, Bukayo Saka has also been on a roll for the Gunners in attack. He has now scored thrice in two matches. He bagged a brace against Liverpool in the all important clash as they won 3-2 at home maintaining the lead in the standings.

Arteta is very impressed by Saka and shared how he is really good. But the Spaniard also shared some areas where the English youngster can improve and get even better. “Yes, but again, he can become much better. He had moments in the game where he was really good and then moments he can improve and demand more of himself, especially defensively,” Arteta told Metro.

The Spaniard highlights how the opponent’s left back was allowed to progress and break Arsenal’s play which is definitely an area that Saka needs to improve and be a more balanced player who works hard in attack but also tracks back and helps out his defenders. “There were moments where we allowed their left full-back to progress the play and break our press too easily. There a lot of things to improve,” Arteta pointed out.

Bodo/Glimt were unbeaten in 14 home matches before facing Arsenal. But the Norwegian outfit failed to keep their record intact as the Gunners defeated them 1-0 and that made Arteta very happy. However they made Arsenal grind for the chances and honestly Arteta’s men were not at their clinical best. But he is happy that they found that goal to separate the two sides and return home with a win.

“We were expecting a really tough night here and we made a lot of changes again, but I’m delighted to find a way to win. To do that under any circumstances is a real positive for me and the team,” shared Arteta.

Arsenal are in a good position in the Europa League as well as they are top of their group. Similarly they are top of the Premier League table aswell and there they will travel to Elland Road to face Leeds United on 16th October and will hope to maintain their winning run.
