Arsenal’s Bukayo Saka believes that the Gunners can still win a silverware this season

England international Bukayo Saka, who impressed everyone during the Euros, has made a bold prediction about Arsenal. The youngster feels that Arsenal have the potential to win trophies this season after their dominant 3-1 win over arch-rivals Tottenham Hotspur.

The teenage sensation forgot about all the early season struggles that the club had to endure. Saka played an active role in guiding the Gunners to a comfortable win against Spurs. This was his first goal of the season and Mikel Arteta will hope that it is the first of many.

Arteta fielded a very young squad with talented youngsters all over the pitch. He had six summer signings in the starting lineup in the crucial North London and most of them played very decently. The Spanish tactician seems to have found some momentum going and with consistent performances, they can be in contention for some silverware this season.

Saka was very true to his feelings as he told reporters, “We can achieve anything, no matter what age. With age comes experience but we have a lot of experience in this squad anyway which helps us.

“We have a lot of quality and enough experience to achieve a lot. We’re going to take it game by game but if we play like this we have enough quality to win trophies.”

The youngster highlighted how good the Emirates was as the fans were in the mood and so were the players on the field. He enjoyed playing in a full house stadium with the fans buzzing throughout.

“I can’t really describe how good it feels. Starting with the atmosphere in the stadium — it was crazy! The fans gave us so much energy and, for us to repay them and win like this at the stadium, it just means everything for us,” Saka continued.

“It’s been almost two years since we played a north London derby with the fans. And you could tell it’s been nearly two years by the way they received us and cheered us. It was a special game.”

The England international then explained how the team is getting closer and there is real cohesion between the players now. He also feels that the team always gets in good positions but they weren’t clinical enough. However, in recent times they have turned that around and have enjoyed the results.

“We’re getting closer as a team, getting more team spirit, so things are looking good,” Saka revealed.

“If we play like that all the time, we have a strong chance of doing well this season and winning some trophies. This is one game, we have to do it again the next week and the next week.

“We get into a lot of good situations but we need to score more goals. Yesterday, we were a lot more clinical, so we’re happy with that but we’ve got to do it consistently,” he concluded.
