Recently Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta was asked whether the Europa League represented the last chance for some players to win something together. The Spaniard did not reserve anything and said: “I don’t want to think like that. I want to think they always have the hunger to win any competition that they’re involved in.
“It’s true for some players that this might be the last season for different reasons and I can see how much it means for them.”
This hints that both Arteta and technical director Edu are planning a massive rebuild of the squad next season.
The club would take advantage of the fact that some players end their contracts this summer, while others will be sold to finance the purchase of new players.
Players who apparently already have their luggage ready to leave the Emirates are:
Dani Ceballos
The player has been on loan at Arsenal for a couple of years and has always declared his intentions to return to Real Madrid.
Apparently, the club would let Ceballos return to Madrid since they have no interest in buying the player or renewing his loan tenure.
Eddie Nketiah
Nketiah is a graduate of the Arsenal academy and started the season with great expectations. But little by little, he was losing minutes on the pitch.
The lack of action does not make the player happy, who during the international duty on England declared: “It’s been a difficult last month or so. I haven’t played as much as I would have liked. ” This could be indicative that the player would look for a club that allows him more minutes of play.
Other names on the list are Alexandre Lacazette, Reis Nelson, and David Luiz, who apparently already has an agreement with Lazio.
There is also the situation of players on loan at other clubs, such as Sead Kolasinac, Lucas Torreira, Matteo Guendouzi, Ainsley Maitland-Niles, and Joe Willock. The club would seek to make a definitive transfer for all of them.
