Atalanta star midfielder sets for Juventus move

Juventus could complete the signing of Atalanta midfielder Teun Koopmeiners from Atalanta after both clubs reportedly reached an agreement for the Dutch international.

According to reports, the Dutch midfielder will undergo medical tests on Wednesday.

Koopmeiners, who has been left out for selection by Gian Piero Gasperini, has wanted to complete the move to Juventus for over three weeks.

According to Italian sources, the two clubs have reached an agreement to transfer the Dutch midfielder, and the transfer seems imminent.

Transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano said Juventus will pay a transfer fee of €52m plus €7m add-ons.

Romeo Agresti, Sky, and La Gazzetta dello Sport also confirmed the development. All said it’s a done deal, while the pink paper revealed that the 26-year-old would undergo medical tests on Wednesday.

Thiago Motta will be delighted because Koopmeiners has been Juventus’ primary target this summer.

The Dutchman also pushed to join the Old Lady, refusing to train with Atalanta over the last few weeks and providing a medical certificate.

Koopmeiners has, as a result, missed Atalanta games against Real Madrid, Lecce and Torino.

This is also a good deal for Le Dea, especially regarding a player who insisted on leaving. They will make a huge sum on Koopmeiners they signed for just €14m from AZ Alkmaar in 2021.

Since joining the club, the midfielder scored 29 goals and provided 15 assists in 129 games. He was part of the squad that won the Europa League last season.

Meanwhile, this arrival could lead to the exit of four players in the Juventus squad.

One of them is Italy international Federico Chiesa, who has been frozen out of the team. He has recently been linked with a move to Barcelona and Liverpool.

La Gazzetta dello Sport also reported that the Old Lady already have an agreement with Empoli over a permanent deal for Mattia De Sciglio, who joined the club for €12m from Milan in 2017.

IlBianconero editor Romeo Agresti also reported that two  21-year-old center-backs, Tarik Muharemović, and Facundo Gonzalez, will leave this summer.
