Bayern Munich have joined Barcelona in the race to sign Hoffenheim striker Fisnik Asllani, one of the Bundesliga’s standout performers this season.
The 23-year-old Kosovo international has caught the attention of several top European clubs after a blistering start to the campaign, positioning himself as one of the most sought-after young forwards in Germany.
Both Bayern and Barcelona reportedly view Asllani as a long-term replacement for their ageing stars, Harry Kane and Robert Lewandowski respectively.
According to reports, Bayern have already begun gathering information about Asllani’s release clause as part of their plan to strengthen their attacking depth.
The striker has registered six goals and two assists in just nine appearances this season, showcasing the pace, composure, and finishing ability that made him a standout during his loan spell at SV Elversberg, where he notched 19 goals and 10 assists.
The German champions see him as the perfect player to learn under Kane before eventually taking over as their primary striker.
Barcelona, however, have been tracking Asllani for months and consider him a natural heir to Lewandowski.
The Catalan club have sent scouts to multiple Hoffenheim fixtures, compiling detailed reports and performance data on the forward.
Asllani’s style, technically sharp, mobile, and intelligent in tight spaces, fits seamlessly into Barça’s tactical framework.
He has also admitted his admiration for the La Liga giants, saying, “FC Barcelona has always been my dream club,” adding fuel to speculation of a future move to Spain.
Despite his contract with Hoffenheim running until 2029, the player’s representatives reportedly expect a transfer in the summer of 2026, when his release clause becomes active.
Premier League clubs are also monitoring the situation, making the upcoming transfer window potentially decisive for the young forward’s career.
Hoffenheim, aware of Asllani’s soaring value, are bracing for bids and may be open to negotiations if their valuation is met.
For Bayern, the pursuit of Asllani highlights their strategic approach to squad planning under Vincent Kompany.
With Harry Kane turning 33 next summer, the club is eager to secure a forward capable of rotating effectively while maintaining their high-pressing, attacking style.
Asllani’s Bundesliga experience makes him a low-risk, high-upside signing, one who could bridge the gap between Bayern’s present and future attacking structure.
