Bayern leaves CWC with injury to Musiala and Muller leaving

Bayern Munich’s Club World Cup campaign ended in disappointment, compounded by a major injury to Jamal Musiala. 

The young German star underwent surgery this week for a fractured fibula, sidelining him for at least four months.

His absence leaves Bayern’s attack vulnerable, with his participation in the coming season now in serious doubt. 

The injury has amplified the club’s need for reinforcements in the number ten and left-wing positions, where depth was already a concern before the tournament.

Despite the attacking shortage, Bayern have ruled out a short-term contract for Thomas Muller. 

The 35-year-old German forward, who played his final match for the club against Paris Saint-Germain on Saturday, will not be offered a six-month deal. 

Max Eberl, in an exclusive interview, confirmed Bayern’s decision to part ways with Muller, signaling a shift toward a new era for the club. 

The Bavarians had briefly extended Muller’s contract for the Club World Cup, but his time at Bayern has now ended.

Muller, open to staying for another season, bid an emotional farewell to Bayern via social media. 

Harry Kane, who played alongside Muller for two years, shared a heartfelt tribute to the departing star. 

While Muller has no immediate plans to retire, a move to another European club seems unlikely. 

Interest from MLS clubs is growing, and Muller intends to decide his next step during the holidays, having prioritized the Club World Cup before addressing his future.

Bayern now face the challenge of rebuilding their attack without two key figures. Musiala’s recovery timeline and Muller’s exit leave Bayern in a precarious position as they navigate the remainder of the season. 

The club’s leadership must act swiftly to address the gaps in the squad, with fans hoping for strategic signings to maintain their competitive edge. 

For Muller, a storied chapter closes, but his passion for the game suggests this is not the end of his journey.
