After a disappointing Champions League campaign, Bayern Munich are determined to strengthen their squad for a stronger push in Europe next season. 

The German champions have identified Newcastle United’s Anthony Gordon as a key target to bolster their attacking options.

According to recent German media reports, Bayern have already begun concrete work on the deal and reached a broad agreement with Gordon on a long-term contract. 

The English forward is reportedly eager to join the Bavarian club, which gives Bayern a strong negotiating position.

However, a significant gap remains in the transfer fee valuation between the two clubs. Newcastle are holding out for a fee close to €87 million, while Bayern continue talks to bridge the difference.

Club officials have given sporting director Max Eberl the green light to push the deal through. Bayern hope Gordon’s clear desire to move to Munich will help bring the price down to a more acceptable level. 

The club is confident in its ability to finalise the transfer despite interest from several Premier League sides and Barcelona.
