Bayern Munich’s young talent Frans Krätzig has finalized his transfer to RB Salzburg, following a successful loan spell at FC Heidenheim. The move was confirmed by Bayern Munich’s official website shortly after Heidenheim’s dramatic last-minute victory in the Bundesliga relegation playoff against SV Elversberg.
Krätzig, who joined the FC Bayern Campus in 2017, has shown significant growth, earning over 20 Bundesliga appearances and representing Germany at the junior international level.
Sporting director Christoph Freund praised Krätzig’s development, stating, “Frans is a product of our youth system, having joined the Bayern Campus at its inception.
He’s grown into a professional footballer, and we’re proud to see another academy player take this step. We wish him every success.” This marks another milestone for Bayern’s renowned youth academy in producing professional talent.
Krätzig is no stranger to Austrian football, having spent the latter half of the 2023/24 season on loan at Austria Wien. While rumors suggested a buy-back clause might be included in the transfer to RB Salzburg, Bayern’s official statement made no mention of such an agreement, consistent with their practice of omitting such details in public announcements.
As Krätzig embarks on this new chapter with RB Salzburg, Bayern Munich shifts its focus to new transfer targets, with Florian Wirtz reportedly heading to Liverpool.
Krätzig’s move highlights Salzburg’s reputation for nurturing young talent, offering him a platform to further develop in a competitive environment. Bayern fans will likely keep an eye on his progress as the club continues its tradition of producing and transferring promising players to top European clubs.
Bayern continue their preparations for the Club World Cup, which is set to kick off on the 15th of the coming month (June 2025).
