Bayern Munich have no major plans to sign a midfielder this summer.
They bolstered Vincent Kompany’s midfield options by signing Tom Bischof in the winter transfer window.
The German midfielder joined from Hoffenheim on a free transfer, strengthening the Bundesliga champions’ squad.
Despite this, Bayern have no further intentions to acquire another midfielder this summer.
However, they are open to selling a senior midfielder. João Palhinha has faced intense speculation about his future following a challenging debut season in the Bundesliga.
Palhinha arrived in Munich last summer, a year after a failed deadline move, with expectations to pair consistently with Joshua Kimmich.
Unfortunately, the Portuguese midfielder struggled with form and limited game time last season. Reports suggest Bayern won’t block his exit if a suitable offer arrives.
Initially, Palhinha, formerly of Fulham, insisted on staying and fighting for a starting spot. Yet, recent indications suggest he may be reconsidering his future at Bayern.
According to reports, Palhinha is now open to a summer departure. While no firm offers have emerged, tentative inquiries have been noted. His situation could dominate discussions as the transfer window nears its end.
Europa League winners Tottenham Hotspur have shown interest in Palhinha. Sources indicate the Premier League side prefers a loan deal, though Bayern favor a permanent transfer. Fulham and Benfica have also been linked with the midfielder, but no offers have reached Bayern yet.
Competition for Palhinha at Bayern next season looks fierce, with Joshua Kimmich, Aleksandar Pavlovic, and Leon Goretzka ahead in the pecking order. Bischof’s arrival will only heighten the rivalry in midfield.
With the World Cup 2026 on the horizon, Palhinha needs regular game time to secure his spot in Portugal’s squad.
