Jude Bellingham scored his 50th goal for Real Madrid as they defeated Racing Santander 3-0 on Sunday to extend their winning run to five matches in all competitions.
The victory followed their El Clasico triumph over Barcelona last week and moved Jose Mourinho’s side to within three points of the La Liga leaders.
Real Madrid took the lead in the 11th minute after Matteo Prati brought down Kylian Mbappe inside the penalty area.
The French forward stepped up to convert the resulting spot-kick, giving the visitors an early advantage at the Campos de Sport de El Sardinero.
Bellingham doubled Real’s lead ten minutes later with an impressive individual effort.
The England midfielder carried the ball forward from around halfway before lifting it over the advancing goalkeeper and finishing into an empty net.
The goal marked his 50th in all competitions since joining Real Madrid from Borussia Dortmund in 2023 for £88.5 million.
Yan Diomande added a third goal in the 36th minute, volleying home after Racing Santander failed to clear a corner effectively.
Real Madrid went into half-time with a commanding three-goal advantage. Mbappe came close to extending the lead after the break, striking the post with a curling effort from the edge of the penalty area in the 59th minute.
Racing Santander were later awarded a penalty, but the decision was overturned following a video assistant referee review.
The officials ruled that the ball had deflected off Aurélien Tchouaméni’s boot before striking his hand, meaning the contact was considered accidental. Bellingham also scored again late in the match, but his effort was ruled out for offside.
The match also saw Trent Alexander-Arnold receive a rare start for Real Madrid. The former Liverpool defender nearly registered an early assist when Arda Güler failed to direct his cut-back on target.
Alexander-Arnold has struggled for regular starting opportunities this season, with Denzel Dumfries and midfielder Federico Valverde often preferred at right-back.
The victory extended Real Madrid’s unbeaten momentum in recent weeks, with their last defeat coming against city rivals Atletico Madrid on September 20.
