We take a look at the game of the weekend, which promises to come with a lot of spark as table toppers Monchengladbach host Champions Bayern Munich.
Match Preview
Date: Saturday 7, December 2019
Kick-off: 2:30 PM
Venue: Borussia Park (Monchengladbach)
Gladbach has been the surprise of the season so far as Marco Rose’sRose’s team are top of the table, a point clear of second-place RB Leipzig and three points ahead of their visitors Bayern Munich.
Borussia Monchengladbach goes into this match with a lot of confidence after their 4-2 win over Freiburg last time out. That win proved priceless after they slumped to a surprise 2-0 defeat in the hands of Union Berlin in Matchday 12.
Borussia Monchengladbach has won eight of their last ten matches in the league. Their attacking prowess has enabled the home side current form, which has seen them scored at least two goals in seven of their nine league matches. Their form has played a massive role in their current position on the log with five consecutive wins on home soil
in the Bundesliga scoring two goals, at least in each victory.
Bayern Munich, on the other hand, has not been having the smoothest run, having already sacked the previous manager Niko Kovac and appointing an interim head coach Hans Flick as he won his first four matches without conceding a goal.
However, things took a sour turn as Bayer Leverkusen defeated the Bavarians 2-1 last week, which halted their progress in the chase of occupying the first position on the log. Despite their inconsistencies, there is the fact that Bayern has been high scoring in their recent matches with over 2.5 goals in their last nine league outings.
In conclusion, Monchengladbach could prove their title credentials if they beat the reigning champions. However, it won’t come so easy as Bayern will look to make a statement by taking the three points in their bid to continue their chase for the top position on the log.
