League leaders Celtic handed St.Mirren their third league defeat this year as the Hoops scored five unanswered goals against their opponents.
Leigh Griffiths continued his excellent form as he scored twice in the first half to put the Hoops in total control.
Nine minutes into the second half, Odsonne Edouard added a third before the brilliant Griffiths completed his Patrick with 16 minutes remaining on the clock before Callum McGregor added more salt to their wounds by scoring the fifth goal.
St.Mirren’s manager Jim Godwin made three changes to his side that played a stalemate against St. Johnstone on Wednesday evening as Cammy Macpherson, Tony Andreu and Junior Morias made way for Ross Wallace Ilkay Durmus and Alex Jakubiak.
Celtic was utterly dominant as they enjoyed a large share of the possession which was expected of them. However, St. Mirren looked to make some efforts early in the game as they kept on pushing to get ahead of Celtic, but they failed to make use of few of some opportunities they got as Morias was unable to convert a glorious chance after the ball evaded the forward.
Fraser Forster was forced to make a brilliant save after a dangerous 25-yard freekick from Macpherson in the 14rh minute as the midfielder lifted the ball over the wall before Forster made a decent save.
The Scottish Champions have been in brilliant form, as they look to accomplish their tenth title in a row. Lennon has also been great so far mainly in the management of the team and particularly the resurrection of Leigh Griffiths.
