De Bruyne Renews His contract With Manchester City in a Peculiar Way

Manchester City have reached an agreement with Kevin de Bruyne until 2025.

The player did not doubt it and immediately signed a new contract with the citizens. In the words of the player himself: “Signing this contract was an immediate decision. This football team is made for success. It offers me everything I need to maximize my performances.”

What’s interesting is that de Bruyne hired a Big Data team to determine his worth as a player.

And it was de Bruyne itself who led the negotiations due to the fact he has no agent. Since in 2020, his agent Patrick Koster was arrested for money laundering and counterfeiting.

Through the data collected, de Bruyne negotiated a better contract with the club, since he was able to demonstrate his value in the future as a player and the influence that he can have on the club’s results.

As a result, the Belgian player achieved a substantial salary increase. Previously de Bruyne earned 400,000 euros a week. But his new contract stipulates a weekly salary of 462,000 euros.

In total the player will earn about 24 million euros a year and will continue as the highest-paid player in City.

The Big Data team that de Bruyne hired not only analyzed the potential of the Belgian player but also analyzed the potential for Manchester City’s success in the future based on its players’ age and value and compared it with other large clubs in Europe.
