According to the latest report from Spanish media outlets, Celta Vigo, Espanyol, Rayo Vallecano, and Sevilla have reportedly shown interest in signing Mariano Diaz from Real Madrid.
Mariano Diaz has attracted interest from various La Liga clubs and is close to securing a late move in the ongoing transfer window.
Among the interested clubs are Celta Vigo, Espanyol, Rayo Vallecano, and Sevilla, who want to sign the Real Madrid forward before this summer transfer window ends.
Mariano Diaz is currently in his second spell at the Santiago Bernabeu after he rejoined them from Lyon nearly four years ago.
However, the 28-year-old has had little to no game time at the club. He is way below the pecking order in Real Madrid’s attack and played second-fiddle to Karim Benzema for most of the time there.
In fact, he managed only 11 matches in the 2021/22 season, which amounted to 399 minutes of game-time, scoring one goal and assisting another.
His situation at Real Madrid has seemed to worsen. There are rumours that Carlo Ancelotti is thinking about playing Eden Hazard and Marco Asensio in a central attacking role, which will make Mariano surplus to requirements at Real Madrid.
With so much uncertainty regarding his future, Real Madrid are keen on selling him in the summer transfer window.
Initially, Mariano was reluctant to leave Real Madrid in the summer transfer window despite his lack of minutes for Los Blancos. Nonetheless, Mariano has recently accepted the idea of leaving the Santiago Bernabeu. Thus, a number of Liga clubs are interested in his signature.
Apart from the four La Liga clubs mentioned above, Mariano has also emerged on the radar of another La Liga club in Getafe.
The Dominican Republic footballer will be hoping to secure a move to a club where he will get an opportunity to showcase his talents.
During his time at Lyon, Mariano was in terrific form as he scored 18 goals in 34 matches, forming a deadly attacking trio alongside Memphis Depay and Nabil Fekir back then.
