Giroud wants to win Scudetto for Milan this season

AC Milan striker Olivier Giroud has said his major aim is to win Scudetto for his team this season.

Giroud, who joined the Rossoneri from Chelsea last season, is saying this ahead of the Derby Della Madonnina against Inter is on Saturday.

Apart from it being a rival clash, it is also a battle between the top two in Serie A right now.

Inter are on top of the log with 53 points, with AC Milan being behind with 49 points. It is, therefore, an opportunity for Milan to close the gap and make a statement of intent about the Scudetto.

With winning the Scudetto with Milan in 2022 being his main aim, Giroud said whatever comes after that is a bonus.

Speaking with StarCasinòSport, the former Arsenal striker said the Stefano Pioli’s squad believes they can win the title won by their city rival last season.

They will have to prove their mettle with the important game with Inter as a win would be a good opportunity to be in there to the end.

While noting that he played and scored in his first London derby against Tottenham while playing for Arsenal, Giroud noted that he knew what it would mean to  Milan fans if he did that against Simeone Inzaghi’s men.

Despite being 35, the Frenchman said he is not slowing down partly because he studied dance as a youngster, which he believed helped his stability and flexibility.

He believes he still has more to give the fans and help the team.

While stating that all selection decision is made by the coach, the Frenchman expressed the willingness to play more games from now on,  as he feels good physically ready to achieve the team’s objectives.

Giroud is likely to lead the line as Zlatan Ibrahimovic continues his recovery from the Achilles tendon issue.
