Haaland scores hat trick on national team duty

Manchester City’s Norwegian forward Erling Haaland scored a hat-trick in Norway’s 3-0 victory over Kosovo in an international friendly played on Wednesday evening. The Norwegians missed out on qualification for Euro 2024, but that has not stopped them from playing international friendlies.

Wednesday’s fixture was the the first of the two they will have in June. The first against another fellow team who failed to qualify for Euro 2024, Kosovo and the second will be on Saturday against a Germany-bound Denmark.

Haaland posted the performance on a day reports filtered that Manchester City were willing to lose Argentina striker Julian Alvarez this summer.

Haaland scored 27 goals and five assists in 31 Premier League matches. Manchester City went on to win the league title ahead of Arsenal, while Alvarez managed 11 goals and nine assists in 36 Premier League games.

However, the Argentinian argued that he should have gotten more minutes under Pep Guardiola in the season and said to the manager he would instead go to the Olympics without Argentina this summer.

He is not the first Manchester City player to be linked with a move away from the Etihad Stadium. Belgium midfielder Kevin de Bruyne has already stated the possibility of moving to Saudi Arabia at the end of his contract next season.

For Erling Haaland he has admitted he has had a great start to life at Manchester City and he still wants to continue with three years left on his contract, refusing to state whether he has enter negotiations with some other teams.

“I’ve had two fantastic years and have three years left. That’s really all I can say. Are there ongoing talks? That’s all I can say, what I just said,” Haaland said.

Similarly, Julian Alvarez has four years left on his contract, and he’s attracting interest from Atletico Madrid and PSG.
