”I am happy with the players we have,” says Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta following North London Derby win and also losing out Mykhaylo Mudryk to Chelsea

Arsenal are currently running away with the Premier League following their win over Tottenham Hotspur in the latest North London Derby. But apart from their on ground heroics, it has not been that rosy for the club off the field especially with transfer dealings. Arsenal target Mykhalo Mudryk who has been linked with the Gunners for many months or so has shockingly joined Chelsea after the London outfit decided to hijack their rivals deal.

Shakhatar Donetsk had rejected three of Arsenal’s bids for the winger but Chelsea got it done with a single bid as they came into the picture from nowhere and snapped him up. The Blues broke the bank as they decided to match Shakhtar’s asking price of €100 million plus add-ons for the talented forward.

Mudryk has shown glimpses of his talent on and off the ball. He is someone who can dribble past a couple of defenders and create chances for Chelsea as they are struggling to get the better of their opposition.

While Arsenal fans are heartbroken to lose out their target to an arch rival, Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta is not bothered at all as he wants to get the best outcome from the players who are already at their disposal.

Following Arsenal 2-0 win over Spurs, Arteta feels improving the squad is required but for that they need some discipline and at first they need to use the players that are already present at the club.

“I am happy with the players we have. We always try to improve the squad. We have to be consistent with the targets we want. The club is the first one that is trying, but I think as well we have to have some discipline,” shared the Spaniard.

With this win Arsenal have extended their lead at the top of the Premier League by eight points. Arteta was very impressed with his men as he lauded their determination and courage to win against a quality team in a very electric atmosphere.

“Everything we ask, they are so willing to try and do. They are a terrific group of players. I think today we went another step. We won last season in big stadiums, but the way we won today was really pleasing to watch, it shows not only determination and courage but you have to have the belief and quality to do it against this team,” Arteta lauded his players after the derby win.

While on the other hand, Chelsea revealed their new signing Mykhaylo Mudryk as the Blues played Crystal Palace.

Arsenal are in sensational form and they are looking like a team to beat in the Premier League but the Gunners are thin on depth and injury to one of their best players or multiple injuries to some of their starters may see a complete turnaround and hence Arteta and the fans wanted the board to bring in some players in order to seal the Premier League title.

Therefore after losing out on Mudryk, it is reported that Arsenal are speaking to Raphinha’s representative as the Spanish tactician has been a fan of the Barcelona winger ever since he was in Leeds United. It will be interesting to see the Brazilian return to the Premier League and play for a title challengers rather than a mid table club.
