Latest reports from Italy indicate that Inter Milan are preparing to offer €46m plus a young player to convince Atalanta, in a bid to sign Ademola Lookman.
Corriere dello Sport reported that the Nigerian winger has left Bergamo, with the expectation that the Nerazzurri’s offer will be accepted.
Lookman, in an attempt to force the move, has not attended training in two days. He had released a statement on his Instagram page on Sunday, expressing his desire to leave the club after making a transfer request.
The situation has deteriorated beyond repair, and after two days of not turning up to training as scheduled, he is seemingly taking more steps to prove it’s over with Atalanta.
According to Corriere dello Sport editor Ivan Zazzaroni, the former Leicester City winger has left the city of Bergamo, and nobody knows where he is, except for his agent.
This has made Le Dea communicate only with his agent, as their relationship seems to have deteriorated further.
Inter’s recent offer of €45m including add-ons was rejected, prompting his anger and frustration.
According to a reliable source, the Nerazurri could be planning a new proposal worth €46m plus a youth team player to reach the €50m asking price.
What is left to be revealed is the player that will be added to the deal, and if Atalanta will accept, as Inter had refused to hand over Pio Esposito as part of the deal a few weeks ago.
Should they fail to resolve their differences, they might resort to legal action.
Such a move could lead to early termination of his contract as he tries to force through a move to Inter.
It was gathered that the attacker is adamant about the move, having failed to turn up for training on Monday at the Zingonia ground. It was also reported that he had removed all his personal belongings from the camp.
