Juventus have revealed details about injuries sustained by goalkeeper Mattia Perin and striker Dusan Vlahovic, who couldn’t make his return against Genoa.
Perrin was substituted at halftime of the Genoa clash, while Vlahovic, who was returning from the treatment room, couldn’t make his return after sustaining another injury during warm-up, prompting Luciano Spalletti to introduce Arkadiusz Milik in his place.
According to details revealed by the Turin club, the Serbian striker suffered a ‘low-grade lesion of the soleus muscle’, while tests did not show ‘any lesion’ for Perrin.
Juventus, in a statement, said that during the warm-up carried out in the second half of the match against Genoa, Vlahovic suffered an issue with his left calf.
This led to diagnostic tests being conducted on Tuesday morning at the J Medical, which revealed a low-grade lesion of the soleus muscle.
Vlahovic has been out of action after being sidelined for four months. The Serbian international underwent surgery due to an adductor injury in December, making just one substitute appearance since his return, playing for barely ten minutes.
Sky Sport Italia reported that the latest injury setback will force Vlahovic out of action for up to a month.
The report further revealed that Perin was withdrawn due to discomfort in his right calf. His test outcome did not show any lesions.
As a result, the goalkeeper’s condition will be assessed on a day-to-day basis.
Juventus also revealed that Vasilije Adzic will also join them on the treatment table after suffering a right ankle injury while on U21 Montenegro international duty.
Meanwhile, Juventus might be preparing to sign Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson Becker next summer.
Juventus are reportedly set to sell Michele Di Gregorio if an offer comes in, and 33-year-old Mattia Perin will be entering the final year of his deal this summer.
Alisson already knows Spalletti well from their time together at Roma.
The goalie is also on the site of Inter, who are on the lookout for a new goalkeeper this summer.
Alisson will enter the final year of his contract next summer, 2027. This gives Liverpool a chance to get some money from a deal rather than allow him to run down his contract, if he decides not to renew his current deal
Calciomercato.com reported that Liverpool will seek a fee in the region of €15m-€20m if they are to part ways with the 33-year-old this summer.
